The Magic Elixer

With all the faults we find with the foods we eat, it's refreshing to hear about a food that is produced cheaply, provides a balanced diet, and gives you protection against a number of diseases. What is this miracle food? Breastmilk, of course! While it's not yet available at Whole Foods Market, it is receiving some good press in Finland, where researchers have found that children who have been breastfed are less likely to develop allergies such as asthma. This miracle elixir also helps prevent brain damage, certain cancers, and various infections. What's more, and what's really the striking new finding, is that the protective effect of breastmilk lasts until the kids are teenagers, up to the age of 17--and you don't have to keep drinking it that long.
